Zalman CNPS9700LED

Strengths: Made of pure copper and small portion of aluminum, which ensures efficient heat transfer. 110mm Fan with blue LED looks awesome at night if u have transparent side case. Has silent mode & rpm regulator

Weakness: Very big so make sure your case can fit it. Also, be careful transporting your case w/ this thing installed as it is only held by 2 screws when attached and can potentially break off.

Overall this is an outstanding cooler. Not only is it the best air cooler available but it can also take on some liquid systems out there. I used to own a kingwin liquid cooling system but I have to say the hassle of installing one of those was not worth it. You can get the same effect with Zalman 9700. A very cool feature is the speed control that you can attach to the side of your case and...

Great CPU heatsink fan

Strengths: Big fan, all copper, easy to install, speed control

Weakness: speed control is manual and not controlled by the motherboard. It is also huge and heavy (but that is also a plus)

I have done a lot of research and it came down to this processor heatsink. it fits perfectly in my 900 case with the side fan installed. I would highly recommend this heatsink fan if you are trying to push your processor to the limit. Buy it and enjoy your overclock!

funky lookin!

Strengths: Unique look keeps cpu very cool fairly quiet

Weakness: semi-difficult to mount large size

For the most part this HS is awesome...it keeps my E6600 OCed to 3.2gHz at 41°C idle and 50°C max load so defn does the job...it is fairly large and can be a pain to mount depending on board. I do like the fact that it has a seperate dial that allows u to adjust the fan speed as needed.

Zalman CPNS 9500AT

Strengths: Efficient cooling, nice look, quiet

Weakness: Price, weight

Received and installed this monster fan on my new system, with a E6600 CPU. I have not put the system on heavy load yet, but I am very impressed by how quiet the cooler is, as well as how well it cools. I am reading 28C for the CPU. Great job Zalman.

on top but not one of the best

Strengths: it has the look and it does look very nice behind the side glass. its performance is very solid and fan is quiet. It got my e6400 overclocked to 3.0 ghz right under 60 full load and about 40 idled.

Weakness: Somewhat disappointing for me because I expected a lot more from Zalman since the 9500 series did so well. I don't think this has any improvements over the previous version of 9500.

its price is higher than better performing coolers such as tuniq tower 120 (in my mind is the best). Even the typhoon with a little cheaper price would do better than this cooler. If you don't push your chip to the limits and want to have something look nice behind the side glass door. Get this. Installation is also easier than most other top coolers.

The 9500's big brother is some impressive air...

Strengths: Spectacular cooling if it fits well; and is appropriate fro your case... Improved (at least for Socket 939) installation than the 9500.

Weakness: Its size may run up against some PSU's or case fans, or make motherboard mounting difficult.

I bought for a computer that originally had a Zalman CNPS9500 cooling the CPU, and then switched to a thermaltake silent water system. The silent water did its job cooling the CPU (an AMD 4800+ OC'd to 2.72GHz) a bit better than the 9500. But when the water pump broke after only 4 months and the TT RMA process kicked in, I decided to go back to air and givee this a shot. In fact, the 9700 is...

Awesome Across The Board!

Strengths: Quiet and Cool!

Weakness: Huge Huge Huge!

This is definitely a unit you would like to consider if you are looking for that extreme air cooled unit. I would definitely measure my case in the future twice before ordering a fan this big. When it arrived I thought it would not fit but after removing the motherboard and mounting it, it looked great in my P180 case!

Good Air Cooler CNPS9700 LED Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler

Strengths: Work good and look great

Weakness: Two big and heavy

Well what can I say, it went FAR beyond my expectations This cooler only keeps my E6600 overclocked to 3.5ghz at 40C idle and 60C load. It is too heary, you must be VERY careful when it is attached to the CPU. and it is big, you need a big PC case to install it. The fan control is not good, you should forget about the fan control if your overclocking. But any way, it is running good and looking...

Greay CPU Cooler

Strengths: Quiet--Looks Nice--Does the Job Does just as good a job as all that blue water to keep things cool

Weakness: Comes with a 3 Pin connection to M.B. So be ready to call Zalman Tech. Supt.

Runs strong and Quite. I overclock my QX6700 Quad and the CNPS9700 has no problem keeping things cool. But there is always a BUT.....be ready to call Zalman Tech. Supt. if you have a 4 Pin connection on your M.B. It comes with a 3 Pin for what reason I do not know why. BTW call Tech. Supt. I type so many emails to them and never an answer. Just call and try your best to understand them.

Worked as advertised

Strengths: Keeps CPU cool; includes thermal glue

Weakness: Not fun to install; expensive; BIG

I was upgrading my computer from a dual-core E6400 to a E6600 (gotta love those Intel price-cuts!!), and was already using a Zalman 9500. I was quite happy that it got my idle temperature down to the low-30s. I was going to move my old E6400 to another system, and put the new 9700 fan into this system. WOrked like a champ, and installed in like five-minutes. Fortunately, the 9500 & 9700 brackets...
